My passion for jewellery design arises from the freedom it allows in creating a piece of art that is entirely informed by my own sense of self. I have developed my own language and always ensure a sense of total honesty and belief in my way of expression. My work is often centred around a need to be understood, despite a tendency toward discretion. Thus I create layered narratives that are filled with great depths of meaning presented in the most subtle of ways.

The ideas I form are gathered from a eclectic and hugely varied range of sources and are compiled to create an ideology that is my own. I find myself creating work based on truisms: basic ideas that can be appropriated to the macro or micro scales of human development and consciousness. I practice a form of spiritual reverence in the repetition of pure geometrical shapes and a strong sense of duality is often adhered to in combining these clean forms with contrasting textures. To me, this basic structure conveys much of my value system both conceptually and aesthetically.

I favour traditional materials and methods of making based upon a distrust of that which is new. In contradiction, I am wary of overused forms and ideas. I bring such polar views out of conflict by creating pieces that lack obvious features of traditional design whilst retaining contact with accepted notions of jewellery through the material employed. Each piece must be strong in its own right, wholly sculptural with a continuity of design that allows the wearable visual intrigue even when absent of the body. Thus when the piece comes to contact with the wearer, living art is created.

I firmly believe in the existence of logical and necessary sequence, within and without ones control. My work at the moment is just beginning to embark upon the infinite journey in which it will step by step teach not only others about myself, but confront my own sense of self awareness.
